Buc-ee’s is a known to many across the southeast as a really big gas station. However, it is so much more. The company actually brands itself as a tourist destination. And considering they have everything from company branded merchandise, freshly made brisket, Buc-ee nuggets and so much more, it definitely is more of a tourist destination than a gas station.
With gas being super affordable at their insane number of gas pumps, this helps draw folks inside the store for what quickly for many becomes more than just a snack purchase, but an experience. Before you know it, you are at the register with a stuff buc-ee’s chipmunk in hand, a fountain drink and enough food to feed a football stadium.
If you have not yet been to Buc-ee’s it is a recommended stop. And with so many folks traveling to football games this fall, I wanted to share some prime locations you may pass right by on your way to an SEC game.
What Buc-ee’s should I stop at on the way to an SEC football game?
Auburn Tigers
There is a newer Buc-ee’s right in Auburn, Alabama which makes it a super easy place to fuel up on gas and food before taking in a game on the Plains.
Alabama Crimson Tide
If you are headed south on I-65 to an Alabama game, the Athens, Alabama location is a perfect stop. Recently, country star Keith Urban played an impromptu concert at this location.
If you’re coming from the east, stop off in Leeds, Alabama on I-20. Coming from the
LSU Tigers
Right off of I-10 in Robertsdale, Alabama if you are headed east to Baton Rouge is the stop. About two hours from Baton Rouge, you can gear up for the final part of the trek.
Tennessee Volunteers
Off of I-40, the Crossville, Tennessee location sits about 45 minutes from Knoxville. Loaded with Volunteer apparel, you can find some unique swag to wear on gameday. Or fill up on coffee and pastries before an early kickoff.
Texas and Texas A&M
With Buc-ee’s being founded in the state of Texas in 1982, they have several locations throughout the state. These are some unique stops as well as some will be a bit older which gives it that nostalgic type of feel. Wherever you are, just look for the signs and one should be nearby.
