Texas A&M Comes From Behind to Beat Prairie View A&M

The Texas A&M Aggies faced off against the Prairie View A&M Panthers in a midweek matchup. Let's recap this come from behind victory for the Aggies.

On Wednesday evening, the seventh ranked Texas A&M Aggies, came from behind to defeat the Prairie View A&M Panthers in a midweek matchup.

Two way prospect, Braden Montgomery, got the start on the mound and struggled. In one inning on the mound, Montgomery struck out one batter and allowed one hit, four walks, and four earned runs.

Isaac Morton got the win out of the bullpen for Texas A&M as he threw 2.2 scoreless innings to close out the game. He allowed zero base runners and struck out four batters.

Corey Battey got the start for the Panthers and did not do good. In two innings on the mound, Battey struck out one batter and allowed four hits, four walks, and five earned runs.

Prairie View got on the board in the first inning after Tyran Norris hit a three run homer to give the Panthers a 3-0 lead. In the bottom of the first, Jace LaViolette hit a two run home run to cut the lead down to one.

The Panthers picked up another run in the second inning on a run scoring groundout by Michael Smith. Heading to the bottom of the second, Prairie View had a 4-2 lead, but that changed quickly as Max Kaufer hit a two run homer to tie it up and Jace LaViolette hit his second homer of the day to give the Aggies a lead.

In the third inning, Garland Parker tied the game up with a run scoring single and in the fourth, Michael Smith hit a two run home run to give the Panthers a 7-5 lead.

Braden Montgomery hit a solo home run in the sixth inning to cut the Panthers lead to one run, but Prairie View picked up another two runs in the seventh on run scoring groundouts.

Texas A&M was down 9-6 going into the eighth inning, but a rally started by Hayden Schott changed things. In the eighth inning, Schott hit a run scoring double, Ali Camarillo hit a run scoring single, Jackson Appel hit a run scoring double, and Gavin Grahovac hit a run scoring single to give the Aggies an 11-9 lead.

Isaac Morton shut the door and the Aggies won 11-9. Texas A&M improved their record to 19-2 and Prairie View dropped to 11-12.
