Texas A&M Wins Game One Against Mississippi State

The Texas A&M Aggies hosted the Mississippi State Bulldogs for a three game series. The Aggies won game one, 6-3. Let's recap game one.

On Thursday night, the seventh ranked Texas A&M Aggies hosted the twenty-first ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs for game one of a three game series.

Ryan Prager got the start on the mound for the Aggies and continued his great start to the season. In 6.1 innings pitched, Prager struck out eight batters and allowed four hits, two walks, and no earned runs. This gave him the win, making him 5-0 on the season.

Evan Siary got the start for the Bulldogs and had a decent outing. In four innings pitched, Siary struck out four batters and gave up two hits, no walks, and two earned runs.

Texas A&M got the scoring started in the first inning after Gavin Grahovac hit a solo home run to give the Aggies a 1-0 lead.

In the third, Mississippi State scored two runs on run scoring singles by David Mershon and Hunter Hines.

The Aggies started to get a rally going in the fifth inning, started by a run scoring single by Ali Camarillo. Then Texas A&M loaded the bases for Gavin Grahovac who already hit a home run in the first inning. He hits a grand slam, his second homer of the game, to give the Aggies a 6-2 lead.

The Bulldogs only scored one more run this game as Hunter Hines hit a solo home run in the eighth inning.

Evan Aschenbeck came into the game after the home run and got the save. In 1.1 innings pitched, Aschenbeck struck out one and allowed just one hit and no earned runs.

This win improved the Aggies record to 20-2 with a 2-2 conference record. The Bulldogs dropped their record to 16-7 with a 2-2 conference record.

Game two out of three will be played this evening at six o'clock, central standard time.
