61 touchdowns and 3,523 yards on 225 carries for an average of 15.7 yards per carry. Those were Alvin Henderson, the class of 2025 running back from Elba, Alabama’s stats in his junior season.
What is Alvin Henderson's high school recruiting ranking?
According to On3, Henderson ranks as a four-star prospect, 152nd nationally and the eighth best running back nationally in the class of 2025. All of this is despite Henderson’s high school team, the Elba Tigers being a 1A school in the state.
Now-a-days, you typically see the biggest recruits coming from powerhouse programs in their state. In Alabama for example, that would be programs like 6A power, the Saraland Spartans or 7A power the Central High School Red Devils.
Prospects you may be familiar with from each as examples are Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver, Ryan Williams from the class of 2024 from Saraland and wide receiver, Cam Coleman from Central High School.
Both Williams and Coleman put up big numbers in the 2023 season for their respective high school teams, but were noticed in large part because of the size of the school.
With that being said, for Henderson to put up the kind of numbers he did, even at the 1A level, big time SEC programs and others nationally could not help but take notice. And www.hudl.com ‘s highlight video of Henderson shows us why.
According to on3, Henderson holds over 50 scholarship offers. He is currently committed to Auburn University under head coach Hugh Freeze.
Henderson definitely looks the part, but time will have to tell if he can get it done at the next level against stiffer competition wherever he ends up.
