Tim Corbin's Accolades Throughout His 1,000 Win Career

Last evening, the Vanderbilt Commodores beat the Eastern Michigan Eagles, 6-2. This victory happened to be the 1,000th of Vanderbilt's head coach, Tim Corbin. Let's take a look at the accolades Coach Corbin has obtained during his 22 year career at Vanderbilt.

In recent years, the Vanderbilt Commodores have been a national powerhouse in college baseball. Nashville can thank their head coach, Tim Corbin, for that success.

Corbin has been a head coach in college baseball for 28 years, which includes six seasons at Presbyterian University and 22 seasons at Vanderbilt.

After 28 seasons as a head coach, Corbin officially picked up his 1,000th career win against Eastern Michigan University with a final score of 6-2.

Corbin is a very well decorated coach after multiple national championship victories and many appearances in the NCAA Tournament.

Let's take a look at all of the accolades that Tim Corbin has picked up in his coaching career at Vanderbilt.

Awards and National Championships

Tim Corbin was awarded the SEC Coach of the Year three different times with Vanderbilt. His first one came in 2007, when the Commodores finished with a record of 54-13 while going 22-8 in conference play. They also won the SEC Tournament and hosted a regional site in the NCAA Tournament.

Not only was Corbin named the SEC Coach of the Year in 2007, but he was also named the 2007 National Coach of the Year.

Corbin's second SEC National Coach of the Year award came in 2014 when he led the Commodores to their first National Championship win. Vanderbilt finished the 2014 season with a record of 51-21 while going 17-13 in conference play.

Corbin led Vanderbilt to another College World Series win in 2019. Not only was he a national champion for a second time, but a National Coach of the Year for a third time.

The 2019 season was great for the Commodores as they won the National Championship against Michigan and won the SEC Tournament again.

The Commodores recently won another SEC Tournament under Corbin in 2023.

Tim Corbin has the Commodores off to another great start to 2024. They have a record of 11-3 and will host Illinois State this weekend.
