Luke Holman was on the mound for the Tigers, making his debut with the team after transferring in from Alabama. In 5.1 innings pitched, Holman struck out ten batters and gave up three hits, one walk, and zero runs. With this dominant start, Holman picked up his first victory on the season.
After Holman, the Tigers bullpen was able to keep the shutout for the rest of the game. Griffin Herring, Fidel Ulloa, DJ Primeaux, and Samuel Dutton all contributed out of the bullpen.
Coleman MacRae got the start for the Bears and his start was decent. In four innings, MacRae struck out three batters and allowed two hits, three walks, and one earned run. This got MacRae his first loss on the season.
Not a lot of scoring today for the Tigers. In the fourth inning, Steven Milam hit a run scoring single to put the Tigers up 1-0. Later on, Jared Jones would hit a solo home run to right field, to put LSU up 2-0. This was Jones second home run on the season.
After Dutton earned the save, the Tigers advanced to 2-0. They play VMI once again today at one o'clock central time.
