Missouri Has Big Offensive Day Against Cal Poly

The Missouri Tigers got back over .500 with a big 12-8 victory over the Cal Poly Mustangs.

Logan Lucenford got the start for the Tigers and didn't do well. In 3.2 innings of work, Lucenford struck out four batters and allowed eight hits, zero walks, and three earned runs.

Ryan Baum got the start for the Mustangs and similarly to Lucenford, things did not go his way. In 3.2 innings pitched, Baum struck out four batters and gave up seven hits, zero walks, and four earned runs. This gave Baum his first loss on the season.

There were a lot of runs scored in this game and it began in the first inning. The Mustangs got off to a a 2-0 start with a run scoring single by Evan Cloyd.

Missouri got on the board in the second and third innings with run scoring doubles from Mateo Serna and Thomas Curry.

After a run scoring single from Evan Cloyd in the third, the Tigers went on to score six runs in the fourth inning. It started with a solo home run from Justin Colon. Then hit by pitches and wild pitches score two more for the Tigers. Jackson Lovich also got a single that scored two runs.

Cal Poly would respond with two more runs of their own with a run scoring double from Ryan Stafford and a run scoring single from Joe Yorke.

Jeric Curtis picked up a run scoring triple and Jackson Lovich hit a solo home run. Missouri wins this game 12-8 an the Tigers are now 2-1. Game four is on Monday at three o'clock central time.
