Ole Miss Wins a Thriller in 13 Innings Against Hawaii

The Ole Miss Rebels win a close game in 13 innings against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors.

JT Quinn got the start for the Rebls last night and did decent. In 3.1 inning of work, Quinn struck out six batters and gave up three hits, three walks, and three earned runs. Mason Nichols got the win out of the bullpen in 4.1 scoreless innings pitched with five strikeouts.

Harrison Bodendorf got the start for the Rainbow Warriors and did decent. In four innings pitched, Bodendorf struck out three batters and gave up four hits, three walks, and three earned runs.

The Rebels offense got started quickly in the second inning as Ethan Groff hits a two run home run to give Ole Miss an early, 2-0 lead. An inning later, Ethan Lege hits a run scoring single to put the Rebels in front, 3-0.

From the fourth inning to the eigth inning, the Rainbow Warriors would score four different times to jump in front, 4-3. Run scoring hits by Austin Machado, Sean Rimmer, and Kyson Donahue helped Hawaii gain this lead.

Ethan Groff hit a sacrifice fly-out in the ninth inning to tie the game, sending it to extra innings. In the thirteenth inning, Ethan lege hits a go ahead single to give the Rebels a 5-4 lead.

Connor Spencer gets the save in the thirteenth inning, with two strikeouts. to secure an opening day victory for the Rebels. A double header will be played today against these two programs with game one starting at five o'clock central time.
