The 2014 Vanderbilt Commodores were special. They won the first College World Series title in program history.

In that special 2014 season, the Commodores went 51-21, with a 17-13 conference record. This got them great seeding for the NCAA Tournament and eventually they went on to the College World Series.

For the championship, Vanderbilt took on Virginia for a three game series. They win game one with a final score of 9-8. Then Virginia won game two 7-2. Game three was a pitchers duel as the final score was 3-2, with a Vanderbilt victory.
