College football is filled with passion, customs, and wacky traditions.  No matter how crazy these traditions might seem to outsiders, fans adore them.

Jonathan Bass recently published a list of the Top 30 Traditions in College Football.  In what should surprise no one, SEC football was well represented in the top 30 with a third of the traditions listed hailing from the SEC.  If you are interested in more details about these traditions or what the other 20 were, click the link above.

The 10 SEC school traditions with their rankings are:

2)  (Auburn) Toomer’s Corner

6)  (TAMU) Midnight Yell

12)  (Auburn) War Eagle

14)  (Mississippi State) Cowbells

15)  (Arkansas) Calling the Hogs

17)  (Tennessee) Running Through the T

19) (LSU) Tiger Roar

20) (South Carolina) Entrance and Party

24)  (Alabama) Dixieland Delight/Rammer Jammer

30)  (Florida) Honorary Mr. Two Bits

More from SEC Football

While Mr. Bass clearly did his research, he and I would agree on very few of these placements.  We also would not agree on many of his selections in general.  But of course, I have to acknowledge my bias in favor of SEC Football.

Also notice that while Auburn was given spots 2 and 12, 5 SEC teams were left off the list altogether.  Evidently Ole Miss, Georgia, Missouri, Kentucky, and Vanerbilt do not impress Mr. Bass while pink bathrooms, cowbells, and goal posts in a pond do.

While I narrowed the list with an arched eyebrow astonished at some of the traditions that were being left off, I decided to list some of the top traditions of the SEC schools that were left off.  Some of these I cannot fathom how they did not make the Top 30.  Then again . . . that whole SEC bias thing.  Such is life in the SEC.
