SEC football coaches are constantly being evaluated, and we do our part to add to that. This is the 11th in our series of head football coach evaluations for the conference.  Gus Malzahn’s evaluation is the fourth of the SEC West evaluations.

Gus Malzahn broke into the college ranks after spending 14 seasons as a high school head coach in his home state of Arkansas.  His broke-in in a major way once climbing to the college ranks, joining the staff of the Arkansas Razorbacks as offensive coordinator in 2006.  He spent one season there and a couple at Tulsa before joining Auburn for the first time as offensive coordinator.

Malzahn was won wherever he has been and has coached multiple Heisman finalists.  His disappointing 8-4 (4-4) 2014 was the first time fans were not thrilled with a season where he served as head coach.  Is that a sign of things to come?  Or should we expect more seasons like 2013?
