Week 6 AP and Coaches Polls Released

facebooktwitterreddit

After yet another interesting week in the world of the SEC, the two primary polls have been released.  Several SEC teams saw movement in both polls, some in opposite directions.  First, we’ll take a look at the AP Top 25.

The AP Poll houses 4 SEC teams in its Top 10 and another team ranked 13th.  While that may sound find and dandy, it actually is not quite as impressive as it sounds.  Why you ask?  If the College Football Playoff used the AP Poll, the SEC would not be represented.  That’s right…no team in the top 4 of the poll.  Also, while having 5 teams in the top 13 is great…those are the only 5 teams ranked from the.  While not a bad starting point, the SEC is accustomed to having more than 5 teams ranked.  The conference literally had double that many teams ranked in the AP Poll at one point this season.   Regardless, let’s take a gander at the polls with the SEC teams in bold.
