ATS: Southbound and Down Staff Pick ‘Em Results
The SEC Football regular season has come to an end and we now turn to look back at how the Southbound and Down crew performed in the site’s first annual Staff Pick ‘Em.
First let me make it clear that none of us are professional game analysts and most of us had never done a season long pick ’em before. That being said, it is understandable if you didn’t follow our picks throughout the year. I will say, though, that I’d be willing to gamble that many of you that lost money this college football season wish you had followed our weekly release a little closer.
Not a single person finished below .500 against the spread (ATS) or heads up. While some us would have barely broken even if we bet the lines in these games, others of us would have made some serious coin. I’m not the bragging type *cough, cough*, but I do feel the need to point out whose name is at the top of both lists later in this post.
It was a good season for us picking games and I hope you’ll be on the lookout for our Pick ‘Em for the SEC Championship and our separate SEC Bowl Game Pick ‘Em. While we’re not responsible for lost wages, we also won’t request a percentage of your winnings if you strike it rich.
First let’s get the results of the week 13 SEC games as it pertains to the spread:

Overall Update*:
*It does need to be noted that Louisville’s flurry of a comeback was the difference between Neal Wilkerson and myself finishing first and second in heads up picks. A full season of games coming down to that one game and the way it finished is basically nuts.
John: 91-23 (1st) ATS 69-45 (1st)
Neal: 90-24 (2nd) ATS 58-54-2 (3rd)
Ben R: 84-30 (3rd) ATS 63-51 (2nd)
Andrew: 62-28 (4th) ATS 41-38-1 (4th)
Ryan: 56-20 (5th) ATS 39-37 (5th)
Lee: 30-7 (6th) ATS 23-16 (6th)
