During SEC spring meetings last week, Bret Bielema had a great idea for SEC football.
Bret Bielema has said a lot of stupid things. He puts his foot in his mouth on a regular basis and has upset quite a few fan basses. He’s also given some great quips and one-liners. As a result, I couldn’t ignore his idea for SEC football. While I admittedly took it as stupid when I first heard of it, I couldn’t help thinking about it.
His idea? Simple. Bret Bielema wants a SEC-Big 10 challenge that he said could take place over the course of two weekends.
Sounds dumb right? Ok maybe not. But it definitely sounds impossible. Who cares, though This is the internet. People get lost in fantasy sports and they made a game that was inspired from freaking World of Warcraft. No insult to those who play, but if they can make a movie from that…anything is possible.
Can you imagine watching two straight weekends pitting Alabama against Ohio State/Michigan (the banter between either would be amazing) and Georgia taking the odd team out? No doubt Bielema’s Razorbacks would have to represent SEC football and take on Bielama’s former team in Wisconsin. That’s just the beginning, though.

Since the challenge for SEC football would be to figure out which 4 teams to leave out since it would be facing off against the Big 10
SEC football makes sense but the Big 10 clearly doesn’t, since they have 14 teams
After checking my math to make sure it was the Big 10 that had trouble with numbers, it is a perfect conference opponent for SEC football. Even if the challenge was based off of rankings, we’d still get matchups like Arkansas-Maryland and Vanderbilt-Purdue. While some may not lick their chops at that prospect, I’d love to see those games played. I’d also count them as easy wins for SEC football, but I may be a little biased.
