After acknowledging Bret Bielema had a pretty good idea when he advocated for an SEC-Big 10 Challenge, the idea of fantasy booking it for SEC football teams was too enticing to pass up.

I recently wrote a piece that Bret Bielema’s proposal for an SEC-Big 10 Challenge was actually a pretty solid idea.  I know, I know.  It sounds stupid and it (likely) won’t ever happen.  But there is a ton of quality matchups that could be made.  So why not make them on the internet?

My first idea was to match the SEC West against the Big 10 West and the SEC East against the Big 10 East.  But, honestly, that would be too easy for SEC football.  The eastern portion of SEC football also wouldn’t represent the conference well with that schedule.  The Big 10 East is to Big 10 football what the SEC West is to SEC football.

Booking it as SEC West against Big 10 East and SEC East opposing Big Ten West, then, creates a lot of intriguing matchups.  Both Big 10 and SEC football fans would be licking their chops at the prospect of these games, as would fans all across the country.  So I took the teams in order of their 2015 finish and matched them against their opposing conference foe.

I know it (likely) won’t ever happen, but just look at the following matchups and tell me you wouldn’t be interested.  SEC football fan or Big 10 football fan, I know you’d be down.  So instead, holler back at me in the comments or on the site’s twitter to sound off on who you think would win.  We’ll be revisiting this post soon to actually predict “winners.”

But first, we’ll make the matchups for the (currently) less dominant divisions of the conferences.
