The SEC Football season is already almost half way done. As conference play continues we are starting to see things clear up in regards to our power rankings. Today we will give you our Week Seven Rankings.

We’ll do the power rankings for all the SEC football teams like we did last time.  We’ll give a few reasons why they’re there, though we’ll do it in three sentences or less. The number to the right of the team’s name is their overall record, followed by their conference record, and then finally by their ranking in last week’s Southbound and Down SEC Football Power Rankings. Let’s dive in.

14. Vanderbilt 2-4 (0-3)

Poor Vanderbilt looks to be locked in at 14th in the conference. The Commodores only have one more winnable game on their schedule, against Tennessee State. This has been a disastrous year in Nashville, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to get any better.

13. South Carolina 2-4 (1-4) LW: 13

South Carolina gave Georgia a good game. Perry Orth looks to have cemented himself as the starting quarterback. The Gamecocks are just talent-deficient this season.

12. Kentucky 3-3 (2-2) LW: 12

The Kentucky Wildcats are the definition of a one-dimensional offense, but they make it work for them. They are very close to jumping over Mississippi State in these rankings. The two play one another in two weeks, which should settle it one way or the other.

11. Mississippi State 2-3 (1-2) LW: 11

Mississippi State got taken to the woodshed by Auburn this week. The Bulldogs are in serious jeopardy of missing out on a bowl game this season. The loss of Dak Prescott has proven to be devastating.

10. Missouri 2-3 (0-2) LW: 10

The Tigers had a week off this week to prepare themselves for a clash against the Florida Gators. That should be a fun game. Also, it should help clear up the murky picture that is the SEC East.

9. Florida 4-1 (2-1) LW: 9

The Gators also took the week off this week, because of concerns over Hurricane Matthew. The good news is that Luke Del Rio is slated to return this week. Gator fans are hoping he can get a struggling offense back on track.

8. Georgia 4-2 (2-2) LW: 8

The Bulldogs got an ugly win over South Carolina in Columbia this weekend. The Dawgs have a three-headed monster at tailback, but Jacob Eason has to play better. He should find easier sledding against Vanderbilt this weekend.

7. LSU 3-2 (2-1) LW: 6

LSU did not play this week due to Hurricane Matthew. The Tigers have a tuneup this weekend against Southern Miss. Then they host the Ole Miss Rebels the following week in what should be a great game.

6. Arkansas 4-2 (0-2) LW: 5

The Hogs lost to Alabama this weekend, but they hung in pretty well. Austin Allen is a warrior. The Hogs host Ole Miss this week, which should help clear up things in our rankings.

5. Auburn 4-2 (2-1) LW: 7

Auburn’s defense is legit. I’m still in wait-and-see mode on the offense. Still, it’s hard not to rank them ahead of all the teams behind them.

4. Tennessee 5-1 (2-1) LW: 3

Tennessee finally ran out of miracles against Texas A&M. Things don’t get any easier as they host the Alabama Crimson Tide this week. We will see if they can bounce back from a heartbreaking loss.

3. Ole Miss 3-2 (1-1) LW: 4

Don’t let the record fool you, Ole Miss is a very good team. They have the best quarterback in the SEC, who can keep them in any game. The defense, on the other hand, has some growing up to do.

2. Texas A&M 6-0 (4-0) LW: 2

The Aggies tried really hard to let Tennessee win, but the Volunteers just wouldn’t do it. The Aggies have a bye week this week. Then its the showdown in T-Town, with the Alabama Crimson Tide, next.

1. Alabama 6-0 (3-0) LW: 1

Another week, another Alabama victory. The Tide got off to a hot start and never really looked back. Secondary play is the only real concern from the game against the Hogs.
