Prescott had a breakthrough season in 2014, and led the Bulldogs to places they’d never been – namely, the No. 1 ranking in the country for a number of weeks.
There are some who feel like Mississippi State’s season was just lightning in a bottle, and that the Bulldogs will have a difficult time recreating the type of season they had in 2014. But whether or not they can return to the top of the rankings makes no difference when it comes to Prescott, because he’s the real deal.
Even if the Bulldogs struggle a little more this year, I would look for Prescott’s numbers to get better. He opted not to join the NFL Draft this year for a number of reasons, and I’m certain one of those is to see if he can go through a successful Heisman campaign.
