Now that SEC football has begun spring practices, we can get down to the business of deciding who will win the Heisman Trophy in 2015.

More from Alabama Crimson Tide

The Heisman, presented annually to the nation’s best overall college football player, is the ultimate individual award for these student-athletes, and although it may not carry the weight that it once did in terms of NFL draft status, saying that you are a Heisman Winner makes you part of a very exclusive club.

Most teams have at least one player they’d like to think of as a Heisman Hopeful, but usually by the time late October rolls around, the field has been narrowed down to a handful of players. Most commonly, quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers get all the Heisman attention.

The SEC is loaded with talented players from every school, and usually has at least one person in the Heisman running or even invited to New York for the presentation ceremony.

This year, there are a few standouts in the SEC who will be considered as Heisman frontrunners early on. Whether or not they can stay on that list all season is something entirely different. But if you had to pick right now, here are five from the SEC who should be looked at as serious contenders to win the 2015 Heisman Trophy
