He’s never been in Trouble with the NCAA

Say what you want to say about Nick Saban, he has never left a school in NCAA trouble. Oh there have been rumors over the years about Saban cheating, but there has never been any proof of any wrong doing. Not at Toledo, LSU or Michigan State. And from all accounts, he runs a clean program in Tuscaloosa too. The few issues he has had in Tuscaloosa were player made, not Saban made.

Saban has had a positive impact on Alabama with the NCAA because they have a zero tolerance policy when any issues with the NCAA comes up. In his first year as head coach in Tuscaloosa, it was discovered that several players had sold their textbooks, which is an NCAA violation. He suspended the players for several games during the 2007 season which could have cost them big time, but Saban stood his ground and it paid off.
