South Carolina vs. North Carolina, Charlotte, N.C. – The Gamecocks and Tar Heels kickoff the season in a game that will have plenty of sidebars.

The most major being a South Carolina offense that lost several major components including playmaking running back Mike Davis and starting quarterback vs. a Tar Heels defense that was 117th a year ago out of 125 FBS teams, yielding 497 yards and 39 points per game.

John Hoke will be the co-defensive coordinator with Lorenzo Ward at South Carolina after the Gamecocks struggled immeasurably last year in giving up 31 points per game.
