Memorial Day to Labor Day is a long journey for college football fans who are eagerly awaiting the first weekend’s kickoff. There are the conference media days, training camps, and the jigsaw puzzles that become opening day rosters. However, scheduling and the potential match ups are already on the college football hot stoves.
For anyone who says the SEC plays a lighter than necessary non-conference schedule early in the year, they are sadly mistaken. The early part of 2015 is chock full of some great Power-5 opponents that reside outside the SEC.
When it comes to college football, the early season can be an unfortunate determining factor where a team ends up at the end of the year. One slip in a key non-conference game in September, and some teams can find themselves on the outside looking in when the College Football Playoff Committee makes their final choices.
