Although Georgia lost out on Everett Golson, that hasn’t stop the Bulldogs from looking at other  transfer quarterbacks.

According to Online Athens, the Dawgs are looking at Virginia quarterback Greyson Lambert.

Lambert will graduate from UVA this summer, so he will have two years of eligibility left. Lambert threw for over 1600 yards, 10 touchdowns and completed 59 percent of his passes.

Lambert  reportedly will visit Georgia this weekend and then head to Gainesville to visit Florida.

As of Friday, Lambert hasn’t confirmed nor denied  planning to visit anyone.

“I haven’t visited Georgia. I haven’t visited anywhere. The situation (transfer options) is going well, but I don’t want to speak about it. I don’t want there to be any fuss over anything. All that other stuff is noise.”

Don’t expect Mark Richt to make a comment, he said during the Golson process that he doesn’t make comments on recruits.

Coming out of high school, Lambert was also offered scholarships by LSU and Alabama as well according to Scout.com.

What is happening with the qb situation down in Athens?

Richt has been quoted in the past saying he likes having four or five quarterbacks on scholarship, but what does it say that he is actively going after a back-up quarterback Virginia (Lambert was project as the No. 2 guy going into the fall).

It says that he must not be pleased with the quarterbacks he has right now on scholarship.

It has been awhile since Mark Richt had to look for a replacement at quarterback and quite frankly, it’s kind of shocking. A program like Georgia shouldn’t have a problem attracting young quarterback talent to the school.

Georgia is the favorite again to win the SEC East, but if the Dawgs are still searching for a quarterback with less than 100 days before the kicks off, they could be in big trouble, at least at that position.
