10. Sonny Collins, Kentucky

Collins was a work horse back for the Big Blue from 1972-1975 when he ran the ball over 750 times for a total 3845 yards.

The 1973 SEC Player of the Year cracks in at the 10th spot on the countdown because of how long ago he played the game. Against the continued growth of SEC defenses with a lackluster offensive line in Lexington, Collins’ numbers are hard to reproduce.

Comparatively, Collins didn’t find the end zone much either. Through four seasons, he only broke the plain 26 times. But his career rushing yards place him 10th all-time in that department and which lands him 10th on the list of best SEC running backs of all-time.
