Alabama Football: Is Lane Kiffin to Blame for 2014 Losses?

calling doomed Alabama in the end. The game against Ohio State in particular will frustrate Alabama fans for years. Many in Alabama’s fan base are obsessed only with national championships and will remember the 2014 season as the one that got away.
But, if we can, let’s take off the crimson-tinted glasses for just a moment. Alabama averaged 36.8 points per game (espn.com). Alabama scored 17 against the top scoring defense in the country while also missing two field goals (convenient thing to forget if you want to blame Kiffin). Alabama scored 35 in a playoff game against Ohio State.
There is nothing that can ever explain Kiffin’s play calling decisions that led to Henry not getting a carry for nearly two quarters in the game against Ohio State.
At the same time, nothing will ever explain why the statistics just mentioned are cause to blame Kiffin for Alabama’s disappointing 2014 losses.
