For the vast majority of college football programs around the country, these records would represent the best two consecutive records their program has ever produced.

Yet somehow, only a few seasons removed from back-to-back National Championships, losing two games a year is somehow supposed to suggest Saban has lost his touch.  People, get a grip.

As long as Saban recruits at the level he does, Alabama will be a contender.  His recruiting is part of what makes him such a better college coach than NFL coach.

It is impossible to win a championship every year.  Nearly winning one every other year, however, is about as good as one could dream for.

That is what Nick Saban has done.  He gets the Southbound and Down thumbs up.
