Despite being a relatively dull week, SEC teams — and players — should still entertain in Week 2.

More from Southbound and Down

As expected, the SEC — aside from Vanderbilt — had no problems powering through its opening week, winning 12-of-13 games against non-conference foes. In doing so, SEC teams outscored their opponents 536-210 in those 13 games.

Week 2 should yield similar results, with just a single team facing a Power 5 opponent (Tennessee vs. Oklahoma) and only three intra-conference battles scheduled (Georgia-Vanderbilt, Kentucky-South Carolina, LSU-Mississippi State).

There are some exciting match-ups sprinkled throughout an otherwise pedestrian slate. Likewise, there are a few playmakers in the conference who are poised to have breakout performances early in the season.

Here are five players you’ll want to keep your eye on this Saturday.
