So we’re all on the same page, Dak Prescott didn’t do anything to fall from 4 to 5 on our rankings, but he also didn’t do anything to keep from falling from 4 to 5.  I’m not really sure that is fair, but Auburn is an absolute dumpster fire.  Prescott is the clear leader of this Mississippi State team that is far exceeding the expectations of some.  If Mississippi State had beaten LSU, he would be finding himself in the national media spotlight again instead of Leonard Fournette in this year’s Heisman race.  The only thing he is missing is the touchdowns!

Dak finished with 29 of 41 on his pass attempts … but for only 270 yards and 2 touchdowns against Auburn last week.  Averaging less that 7 yards per attempt and less than 10 yards per completion is by no means a bad thing.  However, when you stretch those same stats out over the year, it is really hard to convince Heisman voters that you are not only the best quarterback in the nation, but the best player in the nation as well.  One thing in Prescott’s favor?  To date, he has yet to throw a single interception.  That’s impressive and, had it not been for our next candidates’s last 2 near perfect performances, Prescott would not have fallen down our SEC Heisman Hopefuls’ list.
