Kyle Allen was given a longer leash than expected this year. Many people expected Kyler Murray to be the starter game one this year. It even qualified as a shock to some when Kyle Allen got the nod. Allen got off to a hot start. Then defenses started to figure him out, the pressure got to him and he just had a collapse of epic proportions. That opened the door for freshman phenom Kyler Murray.

Murray came in to Texas A&M as the number 1 rated quarterback and the 13th overall recruit according to espn.com. He has shown flashes this season, but nothing spectacular quite yet. If there is one thing that we know, it is that head coach Kevin Sumlin has a way to get the most out of his quarterbacks. The hype may be too much for Murray to overcome and expectations may be too high. His father, Kevin Murray, was a quarterback at Texas A&M in the 1970’s, and he follows in the footsteps of the infamous Johnny Manziel.
So far this season, Kyler Murray has posted a 62.7 completion percentage, but is averaging only 6.61 yards per attempt. His feet are what set him apart. In the little time he has played, he has rushed for 248 yards on 38 carries for an average of 6.5 yards per attempt. With the experience he has gained this year, Kyler Murray is primed for a SEC Heisman Hopeful run at the start of the 2016 season.
