FanSided: Attention SEC Fans! Be the Fansided Fan of the Year!

There are those moments in sports that you simply cannot remember without some signature audio playing in your head as well.  These moments are ingrained in our memories and the legendary calls from announcers become just as much a part of the memory as the event itself.

But there’s another part of that memory as well.  Whether it be cheers, silence, shock or  disdain, great moments in sports history draw great emotions.  Sometimes it is all of the aforementioned emotions all wrapped into one twisted, yet excellent, experience.

Who makes these moments possible?

The athletes?  Sure, without the athletes, these moments would not be a part of our culture.  We could not reference the Mount Cody block of Tennessee to win the game for Alabama had it not been for Alabama and Tennessee’s athletes competing.

The coaches?  Sure, without the coaches, we couldn’t recall with fondness the times our favorite coaches put together stifling gameplans to seal victory for our favorite teams.  We couldn’t recall the excellence of the ‘fun and gun’ under Steve Spurrier at Florida.

In addition to the athletes and fans: sponsors, owners, TV broadcasters, referees, umpires, officials, league offices and radio stations all play a part in these memories.

But there is one group of people that all of these other groups rely.  There is one group that, without them, none of this would be possible.  FanSided, Sports Illustrated and the countless other sports publications would not be possible.  Who is that group that wields such power?  You.  Well, at least you are a part of that group.  None of this would be possible without the fans.

As a results, FanSided has come up with the Fan of the Year Award.  What does it take?  What are the rewards for winning?  Find out all that and more here:  FanSided Presents the FanSided Fan of the Year Award.
