Vanderbilt: Black and Gold Game

2015 Attendance: 5,000

Even though their basketball team had high expectations, Vanderbilt scheduled their annual Black and Gold Game for March 25th. While this may look like an oversight, I believe it is put there on purpose. It’s meant to be lost in the hoopla of March Madness, and it was successful.

That’s a shame because Jay Cutler was honored this weekend by being inducted into Vanderbilt’s Hall of Fame. Jay Cutler’s induction to the Hall of Fame could only be seen as a positive gesture for all parties involved. The results from the Black and Gold Game aren’t so conclusive.

The offense scored a combined 73 points by having 5 quarterbacks go 17-of-25 for 221 yards. This means that the defense is still very strong, but the offense has drastically improved from where they were a year ago.

Or.

Now the defense is just as bad as the offense was last year.
