This game was played last weekend on April 9th. Blue defeated White 19-10. Walking away from the game, the general takeaway is that the quarterback competition is still quite undecided. Teams take turns playing the EMCC quarterback lottery, and Auburn is 2016’s winner! The general consensus seems to be that John Franklin III “can fly” but he’s having accuracy issues.

At the end of the first half (while pretty much everyone played) Franklin III finished 7-of-10 for 61 yards passing and Sean White went on to be 7-of-11 for 124 yards. Last year’s first game starter Jeremy Johnson was a terrible 1-of-4 for 0 yards. My goodness, how wrong were we on Johnson last year. Preseason Heisman talk! That being said, you can see why no one is running to jump on the John Franklin III bandwagon.
