5dimes has set the over/under for Arkansas football wins at 7 in 2016 – is there money to be made?

Arkansas football has continued to improve and build on their foundation each year under Bret Bielema. Including their bowl victory, the Razorbacks won 8 games last season. 5dimes around the same, as they have set their over/under at 7 wins for the 2016 football season.

Arkansas football fans will likely force that number to increase, as they are expecting much more than 7 wins in the upcoming season. Are those expectations actually realistic?

Let’s take a look at their schedule and whether their games are winnable. I do want to throw the disclaimer out there that it is May and things can change drastically before the season starts. So don’t blow me up if you drop some change and lose it all.   Now that we have that out of the way, what can we expect from Arkansas football in 2016?

Arkansas 2016 Football Schedule

Louisana Tech– Win. The Razorbacks are good for a surprise loss every year, but I don’t foresee them repeating the UTEP fiasco.

@ TCU– Loss. I think this game will be better than most are expecting and I may call for a Razorback upset if it were in Razorback country. As it stands, though, I’ll take the Horned Frogs at home.

Texas State– Win

@ Texas A&M– Loss. Similar to 2015, Arkansas football fans will have to readjust their expectations early in the year. The Aggie defense will be familiar with Chavis’ style now and Trevor Knight should keep the A&M offense competent.

Alcorn State– Win

Alabama– Loss. The Razorbacks play Alabama close, especially in Arkansas. They’ll play the Tide tight through 3 quarters but will not be able to beat Alabama in their own style of play.

Ole Miss– Toss-up. Every fiber of me expects that Ole Miss and Chad Kelly will be able to finally avenge their two upset defeats from the past two seasons to the Razorbacks. But Bielema and Co seem to have Freeze’s number.

@ Auburn – Toss-up. Arkansas and Auburn are very similar this year. One will likely break out and the other will continue to wallow in mediocrity. There is just no way of predicting which will be which.

Florida – Toss-up. Until we see Florida play with a new quarterback, all of their games have to be considered a toss-up.

LSU – Loss. Leonard Fournette and LSU’s run defense against Arkansas’s revamped run game and their run defense? Give me LSU every time.

@Mississippi State– Toss-up. Dan Mullen will either have a ton of momentum or be headed out of Starkville at this point.

@ Missouri– Win. Arkansas probably cringed when they drew Missouri every year while the Tigers were winning the SEC East. They’ve got to be loving it now.

I see 4 sure losses on Arkansas’s schedule to go with 4 tossup games. I think they drop at least two of those to go 6-6. If you’re thinking regular season, go under. If you’re including the bowl game, they’ll likely face an overmatched opponent in 2016 for an easy bowl victory and reach 7 wins.
