"After news broke of Alabama’s own violations in recent weeks, it seems as if Alabama should be more focused on keeping their own recruiting on the straight and narrow."

Nick Saban and Jim Harbaugh have been making headlines this past week in their well documented feud over issues with satellite camps. Now, their respective teams are scheduled to participate in satellite camps together this week. As of right now it seems unclear as to whether or not Nick Saban will be in attendance, but Alabama is reportedly sending staffers to 2 of the camps Michigan is hosting this week.

Nick Saban is on the record as saying satellite camps are like the “wild, wild west” and obviously he doesn’t want to miss out on any recruiting opportunities, but what is Alabama’s motivation for attending these camps?

Alabama has no need to piggy back off of Michigan’s satellite camps to bring in top notch recruits. So, after the comments Saban made this past week, is Alabama attending these camps to try and land recruits or is Alabama simply making their presence known to derail any potential shady dealings on the UM recruiting trail?

After news broke of Alabama’s own violations in recent weeks, it seems as if Alabama should be more focused on keeping their own recruiting on the straight and narrow. It would seem that Alabama is attending these camps to keep their fingers on the pulse of what is going on at these camps.

Harbaugh is definitely turning up the pressure on Alabama and everyone else in the SEC. Not only are Alabama and Michigan in the top 4 favorites to win the 2016 National Championship, but 247sports.com has Michigan with the 7th ranked recruiting class of 2017, with Alabama narrowly ahead, currently ranked 5th.

Harbaugh hasn’t been going after the South Carolinas and the Mississippi States of the SEC world, he has been going directly after his top competition. He’s taken shots at Tennessee, Alabama and Ole Miss in not so discreet shots at the head coaches. He’s put himself out there to either be mocked when he fails, or to be praised if he succeeds at dethroning the best conference in college football. You can say a lot about Jim Harbaugh, but you can’t say he doesn’t have guts and you got to respect that about him. But, Nick Saban and the Alabama coaching staff won’t be backing down any time soon.
