It’s very early in the Class of 2017 recruiting season, but it’s always best to start out strong.  Florida football did that today by adding two recruits on the defensive side of the ball.

The already stout defensive class of Florida football just got better today with the addition of 4-Star DE Zachary Carter from Hillsborough and 3-Star LB Ventrell Miller from Kathleen. I got a chance to catch up with 3-Star LB Miller on twitter, and he answered a few of my questions.

Nick Gonzalez, Southbound And Down: How has is it been today Ventrell? First things first I’d like to congratulate you on your commitment to the University Of Florida! It’s a big step in your life deciding where you want to play football at the next level, and I’m sure you will succeed as you have great talent!

Ventrell Miller: Thank you.

Nick Gonzalez, Southbound And Down: What made you feel as if Florida was the best fit for you — not only as a player but as a person and or Individual?

Ventrell Miller: The relationship with the coaches, they said I’m a priority. I feel like I would be a very good fit in their defense as well. Florida just feels like home to me and it’s not too far from real home.

Nick Gonzalez, Southbound And Down: That’s awesome! Happy for you! Next question:

With some of the talent Florida has had at your position, let alone on defense, how do you feel you will fit in and be able to step into a role of a Jarrad Davis, Antonio Morrison and other great LBs of Florida’s history ?

Ventrell Miller: I feel as if I can make a big impact. I will be a good fit knowing that they run a 4-3 base defense which, allows me to get downhill and make plays.
Nick Gonzalez, Southbound And Down: What is your favorite aspect of your game and how do you think it will translate to the next level?
Ventrell Miller: My physicality. Whenever I hit somebody I’m trying to stop all their momentum and make them go backwards, but it’s only going get even better when I get to college because I’m only going to get stronger.

Once again I’d like to say thanks to Ventrell and hope he succeeds to the fullest at the next level. You can check out Ventrell’s tape below and follow him on twitter @Ventrell_Miller.
