Bronko Nagurski Trophy

I really don’t know if there is a more apt name for the nation’s best defensive player.  Bronko Nagurski just sounds like a really mean middle linebacker that grew up on a farm and doesn’t know pain.  SEC football is extremely well represented here, with 27 names.  27 is more than double the amount of players from any other conference.  In a conference that believes defense wins championships, that should come as no surprise.  These young men on the Nagurski Trophy Watch List make SEC football proud.

Montravius Adams, DT, Auburn
Jamal Adams, S, LSU
Jonathan Allen, DE, Alabama
Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee
