#3.  Barry Odom

Barry Odom will have a tough time replacing Gary Pinkel in year one.  Pinkel is an absolute legend at Missouri, and those are tough to replace.  While Pinkel was a great coach, he didn’t exactly leave the roster filled with top-tier talent.

More from SEC Football

Gary Pinkel only recruited better than Vanderbilt during his time in the SEC.  Odom’s first class came in about the same, ranking 43rd in the country and 13th in SEC football.   That doesn’t exactly make one giddy about the prospects on Odom’s team in 2016.

It also doesn’t help that Missouri’s finances do not compare with those of Georgia and South Carolina — where the other first year SEC football coaches will be placed at.  It certainly isn’t fair, but a bigger budget makes winning easier.

The good news for Missouri Football?  Odom spent nearly a decade of combined time under Gary Pinkel.  If anyone knows how to deal with these disadvantages and still churn out a competitive SEC football team, it’s Barry Odom.
