Luke Del Rio Named Florida’s Starting Quarterback
One of the least interesting position battles in the SEC this offseason is, mercifully, over. Luke Del Rio has been named the starting quarterback for the Florida Gators. McElwain said,

McElwain has played coy all offseason, pretending that Florida’s other three quarterbacks had a legitimate chance of winning the job. Two are raw true freshmen and the other is Austin Appleby, a transfer from Purdue. Those three combined had as much chance at starting at quarterback for Florida this year as I did. At least now McElwain can stop the charade.
Del Rio should be a fine quarterback in the SEC this season. He looked extremely good in the Florida spring game. Of course live action is a different challenge entirely, but McElwain should feel pretty confident that he has his man.
