Moving right along in our Best SEC In-Conference games list, we now bring you number nine. Let’s just dive right in shall we?

More from SEC Football

9. Mississippi State at Ole Miss

When: Saturday, November 26th

Where: Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, Oxford, MS

How to Watch: TBA

Why it’s on the List: Egg Bowl, baby!

Here at number nine we have the first bitter rivalry of our top 10, but perhaps not the last [surreptitious wink]. The Egg Bowl is one of the most underrated rivalries in the SEC. It certainly means a lot to  Mississippi State  fans. And while Ole Miss supporters like to pull out the old “LSU is our real rival. I don’t care about State,” card, everyone knows they’re full of it. Alabama does the same thing with Auburn and Tennessee. It’s a troll.

The fact is that everybody in the state of Mississippi watches the Egg Bowl and pulls for one side or the other. Friendships are broken. Marriage vows are tested. That is what’s at stake in late November in the state of Mississippi. Ole Miss has won the last two in the series, and I dare say State fans won’t be pleased if it gets to three.
