Yesterday we previewed the 8th best SEC in-conference game of the year: The Iron Bowl. Today at number seven we have another heated rivalry. This one was formerly known as The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.

Number 7: Georgia vs. Florida

When: Saturday, October 29th 2:30 pm CT

Where: EverBank Field, Jacksonville, FL

How to Watch: CBS

Why It’s on the List: It’s a rivalry game and it will impact the SEC East Division race.

My grandfather went to school at the University of Georgia. Watching games with him was how I learned to love SEC football. My grandfather loved a great many people and things throughout his eight and a half decades of life. But one thing he hated was the Florida Gators. I never was really sure why he hated them more than Georgia Tech. But he did, and it wasn’t close.

During my formative years the Gators got the better of the Dawgs more often than not. On October 27, 2012 when Georgia beat Florida for the second year in a row it was the first time that had happened in my lifetime. My grandfather was obviously thrilled. He passed away in January of 2013. So I’m glad he got to see one last Cocktail Party victory on his way out.

The Dawgs would win again in 2013 before losing back to back in 2014 and 2015. Let’s see how the two teams stack up this season.
