As we continue to dream of SEC football, we’ll look at each team and tell you who their best player is.  Missouri football is up next, and their best player is a continuing the trend of monster defensive lineman at Mizzou.

Each SEC football team has at least a few studs.  Whether it be their middle linebacker, corner, wide receiver or quarterback, each fan base has THAT dude.  Who is that dude for Mississippi State football?

First of all, Missouri football will be looking for some kind of offense this season.  While considering who to name as their best player only defensive names came to mind.  Walter Brady, Michael Scherer and Anthony Sherrils all came to mind before I finally arrived at Charles Harris.  In addition, quarterback Drew Lock was the first offensive name I thought of.   That’s no good.  He had a terrible 2015.  As a result, Missouri football will need someone to step up on offense if they’re going to make a bowl.

Finally, the good stuff.  Defensive end Charles Harris will carry the D.  As much as other schools in the SEC are proud of their d-line, Missouri football has become reliant on theirs.  As a result, they need someone to step up each year.  That guy will be Charles Harris in 2016.

Though he is only one player, he is an absolute monster.  While he has only been a contributor.  He’ll be moving to his defensive end home full time in 2016, so expect big things as a result.  His 56 tackles, 7 sacks, and team-high 18.5 sacks from last season should all see an increase this year.

Most noteworthy on Harris is that he’s going to be receiving a lot of extra snaps this year.  In conclusion — He may become gassed early and not produce at the same level.  That may happen, though my money is on him rising to the occasion and having a monster year.
