  • Jalen Hurts is making strides in the passing game. However, he still has room for improvement. His interception was atrocious. And he missed a few reads.
  • Ardarius Stewart is Jalen’s favorite target. He had a big game, with over 100 yards and three touchdowns.
  • The defense is filthy.
  • Adam Griffith had a good day kicking the ball.

Arkansas:

Auburn:

  • The defense played well for most of the game, though they did seem to wear down in the fourth quarter.
  • Sean White was absolutely atrocious.
  • Kamryn Pettway was sorely missed.

Florida:

Georgia:

  • Nick Chubb and Sony Michel both had effective days carrying the football.
  • Jacob Eason made some exceptional throws. He really seems to be coming into his own.
  • Riley Ridley looks like he might be developing into the true WR1 that Georgia so desperately needs.

Kentucky:

  • The running game is consistently excellent.
  • Unfortunately the passing game is very poor. Stephen Johnson played like hot garbage.
  • The defense was also extremely unimpressive.

LSU:

  • Leonard Fournette was a bit banged up in this one, but he still had a nice game.
  • Derrius Guice, meanwhile, exploded. He went for over 200 yards and scored two touchdowns.
  • Danny Etling did what Danny Etling does, managed the game.

Mississippi State:

  • Mississippi State got crushed into oblivion by Alabama.
  • The Bulldogs were completely overwhelmed on offense, defense, and special teams.

Missouri:

  • Damarea Crockett had himself a whale of a game running the football.
  • Drew Lock was effective throwing the football.
  • The tiger defense did an excellent job of shutting down the Commodore rushing attack.

Ole Miss:

  • Shea Patterson looked shaky at first, but he really settled in nicely. The SEC has some talented young quarterbacks.
  • Akeem Judd was leaned on early and he responded well, netting 100 yards on the day.
  • Gary Wunderlich was the hero of the evening. He was three for three on field goals, including the game winner.

South Carolina:

  • Rico Dowdle and David Williams had absolutely no room to run.
  • The Carolina defense did a whole lot of bending but not a lot of breaking.
  • Jake Bentley played pretty well given the circumstances.

Tennessee:

  • Joshua Dobbs made the Wildcats pay in the air as well as on the ground.
  • Alvin Kamara is back to full health and it showed.
  • The Volunteer defense is still marshmallow-soft against the run.

Texas A&M:

Vanderbilt:

  • Ralph Webb is still banged up. He was ineffective in this one.
  • Darrius Sims had a nice day running the ball, but it was ultimately futile.
  • Kyle Shurmur

played decently, but he tossed two interceptions. You can’t do that and expect to win in the SEC.
