Week Eleven of SEC Football is officially in the books. That means it’s time for us to take a look back at our three things we watched for this week. Without further ado, let’s just dive right in.
3. Can LSU Bounce Back?
Yes they absolutely can. Leonard Fournette and Derrius Guice were way too much for the Arkansas defense to handle. The duo combined for over 300 yards rushing and five touchdowns. LSU cruised to a 38-10 victory.
Coach Ed Orgeron continues his ongoing job audition, and things are looking pretty good. The Tigers played Alabama closer than anybody expected, and the Tigers don’t seem to be going into their usual late-season slump.
So what does that mean for LSU moving forward? I think it depends on how the coaching search is going. If the Tigers can hit an obvious home run, then Orgeron will be out of luck. If they can’t, then Coach O may become a permanent fixture on the bayou.
2. Is South Carolina for Real?
Nope. They got punked by a bad Florida team 20-7. That killed any hope the Gamecocks had of sneaking their way into Atlanta. However, the future still looks bright in Columbia. The Gamecocks have talented young players all over the field. In a couple of years this team will be very dangerous.
1. Is the Auburn Backfield Healthy?

Not even close. Kerryon Johnson played, but didn’t look like the dynamic, explosive runner he was at the beginning of the season. Sean White, meanwhile, looked absolutely horrendous. He simply could not complete a pass in the second half. Finally, Kamryn Pettway did not play at all.
That combination of injuries cost Auburn a shot at the SEC West title. If the Tigers want to have any hope of knocking off Alabama in two weeks, they need to get healthy. We will see how Gus Malzahn and company handle this situation going forward.
