SEC Football: Impressions from Around the Conference: Week 12
Another fantastic week of SEC Football is behind us. Below you will find our impressions from this week’s games. There were several intriguing matchups. Be sure to share your own impressions of them in the comments below. Off we go!
Alabama
- The Tide looked extremely uninspired against an over-matched Chattanooga team.
- Hopefully Cam Robinson‘s injury was not serious.
- Jalen Hurts completed a couple of nice passes.
Arkansas
- The hog defense got roasted all night.
- Fortunately their offense bailed them out.
- Rawleigh Williams had a monster day, rushing for over 200 yards and four touchdowns.
Auburn
- Freshman Kam Martin looks ready to contribute at running back.
- Jeremy Johnson had a good day.
- It is tough to take much away from a game against such an inferior opponent, but Auburn handled their business.
Florida
- Florida’s defense did a lot of bending, but when the game was on the line they didn’t break.
- Jordan Scarlett looked impressive running the football.
- Austin Appleby looked surprisingly competent.
Georgia
- Isaiah McKenzie is explosive. Georgia needs to get the ball in his hands early and often against Georgia Tech.
- Nick Chubb did Nick Chubbesque things.
- Sony Michel fumbled early and then enjoyed the view from the bench.
Kentucky
- Kentucky ran the ball hard and effectively.
- Stephen Johnson had a couple of nice touchdown throws.
LSU
- LSU’s defense is soft up the middle.
- The Tigers missed Leonard Fournette on the last play. You have to think he punches it in from there.
Mississippi State
- The Bulldogs have a pretty good offense.
- Unfortunately, their defense is hot garbage.
Missouri
had a great day running the football.
Ole Miss
- The Rebels got whipped. By Vanderbilt. That’s gotta hurt.
- Shea Patterson looked like the true freshman that he is.
- Drops were also an issue.
South Carolina
- Rico Dowdle is the man.
- The South Carolina defense had a surprisingly poor outing.
Tennessee
- The Volunteer offense looked good in this one.
- The defense did not. They let Missouri run at will.
Texas A&M
- Myles Garrett was dominant.
- The rest of the team didn’t seem to care too much.
Vanderbilt
The Commodore defense did a good job of flustering Shea Patterson.
played well.
