Alabama Football: Six early enrollees on defense and special teams

Nick Saban’s powerhouse is turning more heads in recruiting.

Alabama football brought in 10 early enrollees on offense. And with defense and special teams, they bring their 2017 early enrollee grand total to an impressive 16.

Here’s who to look out for on defense and special teams:

Dylan Moses, Outside Linebacker

247Sports ranked Dylan Moses as the No. 2 outside linebacker recruit. Moses received a whopping 40 offers, and was the no. 3 recruit in the state of Florida. In 2016, Moses recorded 116 tackles and 2 sacks.

Xavier McKinney, Safety

Xavier McKinney was the No. 6 2017 safety recruit and the no. 8 recruit in his home state of Georgia. Between 2015 and 2016, McKinney recorded a total of 193 tackles.

Isaiah Buggs, Strong-Side Defensive End

Coming from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Isaiah Buggs received 24 offers. With the Mississippi Gulf Coast Bulldogs, Buggs racked up 134 tackles and 7.5 sacks. According to 247Sports, Buggs is the top strong-side defensive end recruit of 2017 and the No. 2 JUCO recruit on the national spectrum.

Daniel Wright, Safety

Originally committed to Florida State, Daniel Wright flipped to Bama. 247Sports ranks Wright as the No. 16 safety recruit of 2017. In his home state of Florida, 247Sports ranked Wright as the No. 22 player.

Kyriq McDonald, Cornerback 

Kyriq McDonald picked Alabama over big name schools such as Florida State, Louisville and Mississippi State. 247Sports ranks McDonald as the No. 47 top cornerback recruit of 2017, and the no. 22 player in Alabama.

Thomas Fletcher, Long Snapper

247Sports sticks Thomas Fletcher as the No. 3 long snapper of 2017. Fletcher played in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and received a total of six offers. Among others, Fletcher considered Florida State, Oregon and Texas A&M.
