Florida, LSU earn top-4 seeds in NCAA Tournament
Florida and LSU have earned the no. 3 and no. 4 national seeds respectively, in the 2017 NCAA Baseball Tournament.
The NCAA Baseball Tournament bracket is out, and the Florida Gators and LSU Tigers lead the way for the SEC. Florida, the regular-season conference champ (they beat LSU head-to-head), earned the no. 3 overall seed, while LSU earned the no. 4 seed.
LSU has been the hottest team not only in the conference, but maybe the country. The Tigers have won 11 games in a row, including dominating the SEC Tournament, allowing just 5 runs over 4 games en route to their sixth tournament championship. LSU is playing their best baseball at the right time, and should be a favorite for the entire tournament.
Although Florida and LSU highlight the SEC’s tournament teams, the conference has eight teams in the regionals this weekend. Along with the Gators and Tigers, Arkansas and Kentucky will also host a regional.

The Razorbacks had a great SEC Tournament, scoring runs at will, before falling short to LSU 4-2 in the championship. Arkansas will look to continue their offensive firepower in the coming week.
Speaking of offensive firepower, Kentucky had a spectacular regular-season. The ‘Cats had a disappointing SEC Tournament, but they can bounce back nicely this weekend in the friendly confines of their home stadium.
The other SEC teams that were invited to continue their seasons include Vanderbilt, Auburn, Texas A&M, and Mississippi State.
The SEC hasn’t been able to be on top of the college baseball world since Vanderbilt in 2014. However, this year the conference is in a good position to get back on top. A full preview of the top-4 SEC teams will be coming later in the week.
The regionals begin this Friday, June 2.
