SEC Football: Week 4 picks, predictions and upsets galore
Ranked SEC Football Games
No. 20 Florida Gators (-4.5) at Kentucky Wildcats
7:30 pm – Commonwealth Stadium, Lexington, Ky.
The last time Kentucky beat Florida…
Ronald Reagan was POTUS.
Gasoline was 89 cents per gallon.
The first Goodwill Games were held in Moscow.
Phantom of the Opera made its musical debut in London.
Mike Tyson was heavyweight champ.
The Oprah Winfrey Show made its debut.
1986. That’s the last time Big Blue Nation saw their football team beat the Gators. 30 years is the longest in-conference winning streak in SEC history, and every year Kentucky fans circle this game on the calendar with a “this is the year!” hope.
Guess what, UK fans…
This IS the year.
Wildcats break the 3-decade old streak and set themselves up for a shot at an SEC East title this year.
No. 15 Auburn Tigers (-18.5) at Missouri Tigers
7:30 pm – Memorial Stadium, Columbia, Mo.
This one probably looked better on paper back in August.

Auburn can’t get out of their own way offensively, and Missouri can’t stop anyone on defense (not even Missouri State). If nothing else, Auburn’s defense should win them another game.
War Eagle and 18.5 points…run with it.
No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide (-18.5) at Vanderbilt Commodores
3:30 pm – Vanderbilt Stadium, Nashville, Tn.
A big win over Kansas State has Vandy fans dreaming the delusional. Yes, the Commodores are undefeated, and yes, Vanderbilt has a solid defense, but let’s just calm down with all the “We want Bama!” talk.
Remember in 2015, when everyone said Alabama has lost a step and was ripe for the picking as they traveled to Athens to take on the No. 8, undefeated, ready-to-take-the-throne Georgia Bulldogs?
Georgia wanted Bama too.
Yeah, that one ended in a 38-10 Alabama romp which was essentially over in the second quarter.
To be fair, Vandy’s defense is probably better than the 2015 Bulldogs. No upset in terms of winner in this game, but the Commodores can probably keep this one within two touchdowns. Take the ‘Dores to beat that big spread.
