The Unranked SEC Football Field

Florida Gators at Missouri Tigers (-3.5)
12:00 pm – Memorial Stadium, Columbia, Mo.

The Gators are still stinging from the embarrassing loss to Georgia in the Cocktail Party, and with defensive coordinator Randy Shannon taking over as interim head coach to replace the fired Jim McElwain, things probably couldn’t get much more dysfunctional in Gator-land.

Shannon has announced Malik Zaire will be the Gators starting quarterback against Mizzou, not that it will really matter.

It’s a mess for Florida, and Missouri – if nothing else – can score a lot of points. Take the Tigers to cover.

Western Kentucky Hilltoppers at Vanderbilt Commodores (-10.5)
12:00 pm – Vanderbilt Stadium, Nashville, Tn.

This is a really odd spread considering how bad Vanderbilt has played of late, and the fact that Western Kentucky is actually a pretty decent team. The Vandy defense, which early in the season looked unbreakable, has now become a piece of hanging cheesecloth. Even the Hilltoppers should be able to score a few touchdowns at least.

Vandy might come away with a win here, but that spread is too fat. WKU should keep it within a touchdown.

Ole Miss Rebels at Kentucky Wildcats (-3.5)
4:00 pm – Commonwealth Stadium, Lexington, Ky.

Absolutely two of the most frustrating and hard to predict SEC teams are meeting in a meaningless November game. The Wildcats are already bowl eligible, and it doesn’t really matter for the Rebels.

You could give 3.5 to either team and it wouldn’t make it any easier to pick. But Kentucky is at home, where (unless they play Florida) they’ve been pretty tough, so give that edge to Stoops and his team. Wildcats cover…probably.

Southern Miss Golden Eagles at Tennessee Volunteers (-6.5)
7:30 pm – Neyland Stadium, Knoxville, Tn.

Bye, Butch.

Golden Eagles in the upset.
