The Unranked SEC Football Field

Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns at Ole Miss Rebels (-20)
12:00 pm – Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, Oxford, Ms.

This could be a fun rivalry if it were played every season. The Cajuns aren’t having a great season and are fighting to make themselves bowl eligible here in the final weeks of the season. Defensively this team is a shambles, and Ole Miss should have some fun throwing it around.

Despite losing quarterback Shea Patterson for the season, the Rebels have still managed to score some points and look pretty impressive on offense. That once-vaunted Land Shark defense however? Not so much.

20 points is a huge spread in a game like this late in the season. Have to figure Louisiana to have enough fight in them to keep it close.

Florida Gators at South Carolina Gamecocks (-6)
12:00 pm – Williams-Brice Stadium, Columbia, SC.

Bet this game looked really good to the schedule makers. Now it’s just a turnip fight between two lame mules.

South Carolina at least has a game plan and some players. Florida is just a mess right now. Gamecocks cover easily.

More from Southbound and Down

Kentucky Wildcats at Vanderbilt Commodores (-2)
4:00 pm – Vanderbilt Stadium, Nashville, Tn.

Kentucky lost any hope of the SEC East last week, and Vandy has just lost all hope.

But this is exactly the kind of game Vanderbilt loves to win, and they need to give the home fans something to cheer about. A win helps keep the Dores on the road to a bowl game.

Blow the admiral (hey, it’s their saying not mine) and anchor down. Commodores cover.

Tennessee Volunteers at Missouri Tigers (-12)
7:30 pm – Memorial Stadium, Columbia, Mo.

Hasn’t Butch used up all 9 lives yet? It would be better to take odds on whether he lasts the entire game.

Take the Tigers and their wild and wooly offense to cover.
