Losing comparisons

Both teams lost one game, and in the Georgia loss to Auburn in the regular season, Fromm completed 46% of his passes for one late touchdown, although his quarterback rating (113.4) was better than the rating he earned against Notre Dame (100.5) and Tennessee (102.4).

In the Oklahoma loss to Iowa State, Mayfield completed 71% of his passes for two touchdowns, a long pass of 29 yards, his lowest of the season, and a quarterback rating of 170, his third lowest of the season.

Michel and Chubb are the engines that drive the big red Georgia football machine, but like every other college football team, the quarterback decides the Bulldog’s fate. Jake Fromm’s play in the first quarter on New Year’s Day will decide if Georgia plays next week.

More dramatically stated, the Bulldogs can no more win without Jake Fromm than the Sooners without Baker Mayfield. The Rose Bowl is Jake Fromm’s to win.
