South Carolina basketball: it’s ugly time
South Carolina basketball beats up the Wildcats
Against Kentucky, South Carolina overcame a 14 point second half Kentucky lead to defeat the Wildcats.
South Carolina played 40 minutes of grinding basketball. Kentucky played 30 minutes of grinding basketball, and that was the game.
“He bullied them. He moved them. He dominated them.” – John Calipari
”All of a sudden, you’ve got a bunch of young guys that don’t know how to grind it,” John Calipari said.
Gamecock Chris Silva was King of the Grinders, slogging out 27 points against the Kentucky youngsters.
“He bullied them. He moved them. He dominated them. He manhandled anybody on my team,” said Kentucky coach Calipari of Silva.
He was ugly.
Just like the Georgia game, the Gamecocks claimed the offensive glass as their own personal space. “We talked about the offensive rebounding and they got 14 of them. We got 6.”
Calipari also commented on South Carolina’s disruptive defense. “We had 16 turnovers and my point guard had 6. He had no assists and 6 turnovers.”
He got the ugly on him, too.
